DoDo is definitely one of our favorite restaurants in the vicinity of the Central Plaza car park. Everything about DoDo is surprising and unique. DoDo is based on the event that took place 400 years ago, in which many animal species died. Similarly, the world famous dodo died out at the time. DoDo brings this iconic bird back to life in an environment where nostalgic elements merge with the cultural city life of Rotterdam. Looking for a affordable place to park your car? The price? You can dine there from € 27.50. Lunch is possible from € 19.50. In addition to the all-you-can-eat concept, you can also order dishes from the à la carte menu.

De Doelen is a concert and conference building in the heart of Rotterdam, located on the Schouwburgplein. Around 600 concerts take place every year. In addition to classical concerts by the Rotterdam Philharmonic Orchestra, you can also enjoy world music and jazz.

What is there to see?

You can go to De Doelen for all kinds of different things. From well-known crowd pullers to small-scale concerts. De Doelen has a wide variety of programming for all ages. It is therefore not surprising that it is the most visited Rotterdam stage institution. In addition to concerts, international events such as the International Film Festival Rotterdam and the Gergiev Festival are also held.

History

De Doelen originated in the seventeenth century, when public concerts were held by city musicians on the Haagscheveer. Later in 1844 the then still called “De Doele” was opened on Coolsingel. Later in 1940, the building was destroyed in a bombing in World War II. The current De Doelen was only opened in 1966. It is a municipal monument that serves as the ‘capstone of the reconstruction’ and is of great historical cultural value for the city.

A visit to Vapiano is different. If you’ve ever eaten there, you know exactly what we mean. Upon entering you will receive a pass on which all orders are added electronically. So you do not work with a menu and staff who come to take an order at your table. No, you do this all by yourself!
